Dats Et

The funnel-like canopy sculpture is fashioned out of mirror-polished stainless steel strips extending out of a smaller, central bundle. These twist and buckle as they grow out to form an oval mushroom-like canopy. The arrangement of steel ribbons playfully reflects and refracts light within and outside the sculpture.

Dats Et has been engineered to stabilise through pre-deformation. This is evident in the crumpled appearance of its base, which helps give the impression that the large sculpture is simultaneously both heavier, and lighter than it really is.
