Apartments
Our proposal for a 30-storey residential tower in Guadalajara, addresses the constraints of a narrow shallow plot by accommodating vehicular access and parking throughout the height of the building. The vertical double parking system is simultaneously a circulation system – with cars taking residents to their front door at every level - and also a stabiliser. It creates a wide, deep core which has the structural rigidity needed in a seismically prone region, and for an extremely slender building with just two apartments on each floor. The tower also benefits from a variety of apartment sizes –all with sizeable terraces, catered for by the subtle swelling of the building’s silhouette. Mobile, colourful, full-height circular shading devices provide privacy and playfulness on the building façade.
